Waterhog Mat Selection Process Simplified
WaterHog has a large selection of mats available in a variety of colors, sizes, and patterns. There are so many options available and a unique nomenclature making it difficult to choose the right WaterHog rug. These five steps help simplify it.
Step 2: Choose your fabric weight
WaterHog Mats are available in two main fabric weights: 24-ounce PET is for the original WaterHog line; and 30-ounce PET is for the WaterHog Eco. PET is an ecologically-friendly polyester made with recycled plastic drinks bottles. WaterHog Eco products feature 100% post-consumer reclaimed fabric.
Second Step: Select your color and pattern
WaterHog original (24-ounce) comes in three designs and 19 color options.

- Choose your border
WaterHog Mats are known to include the Fashion and Classicwords in the title. These two words define the mat’s border. You have the choice of either a classic rubber or a fashion fabric edge on most mats in WaterHog and WaterHog Eco. - Select your backing
All WaterHog rubber mats are backed. The standard backing of WaterHog mats includes a 78 mil SBR rubber (styrene butadiene-butadiene rubber). This can have a smooth surface for placing on tiles, wood, or marble floors or a universal cleated area that is suitable for both carpeted and non-carpet floors. WaterHog mats can come with a classic border or with Anchor Safe backing. This is 100-mil nylon backing with a heavy tread to keep the mat in place in heavy traffic areas.
Level 5: Add some grandeur
A WaterHog Grand mat or WaterHogECO Grandma may be an option if you’re looking to add a bit of grandeur to the entrance matting. These luxurious mats can be used as an end mat for WaterHog Eco Premier, WaterHog Legacy or WaterHog Eco Elite mats.

WaterHog Tiles, & Roll Goods
WaterHog offers many options if you are in need of tiles and rolls for large or customized installations.
With 24-ounce PET fabric and either 100-mil, 200-mil universally cleated SBR rubber, comes in four designs: geometric, diagonal, waffle or diamond.
WaterHog Eco Tiles is made of 30-ounce PET fabric with 100-mil to 200-mil universally-cleated SBR rubber in your choice 8 colors. There are three designs available – geometric, diagonal, and diamond.
WaterHog modular Tiles made from 24-ounce PET Fabric over 200-mil SBR rubber interlocking ceramic tiles. The tile’s waffle pattern can be customized in any 12 colors.
WaterHog Eco has a 30-ounce PET material over 78 mil smooth SBR rubber. It features an attractive herringbone-patterned design in your choice eight colors. Roll Goods come as either 6′ x67″ rolls or custom sizes of up to 50′. They can also be loose-laid or installed like carpet. These mats can have your design or logo inlaid.
